SBC Repair is run by John (Ionut Aionitoae), an automotive electronics technician with 20 years' experience, working from our workshop in Basingstoke, Hampshire. The person you speak to on the phone is the person who rebuilds your pump.
Who We Are
Hi, I'm John. I've worked in electronics repair for 20 years. I started on mobile phones, TVs and laptops, moved on to car ECUs, and today I repair pretty much anything with an electronic component in it, at component level and under the microscope.
Mercedes SBC (Sensotronic Brake Control) pumps became a specialism because so few people repair them properly. Bosch stopped making new SBC units in 2012, so every SBC pump on sale today, including the ones sold by main dealers, is reconditioned. What matters is who does the work and how it's tested.
SBC Repair is part of Auto Electronix Repair Ltd, the ECU and auto-electrical workshop behind ecu-repair.co.uk. We have been publishing SBC repair guides there since 2017.
Track Record
What We Do
We cover the Mercedes models with SBC: W211/S211 E-Class (2002β2006), R230 SL (2001β2011), C219 CLS (2004β2006). Not sure which pump you have? See our SBC part numbers and SBC fault codes guides.
How We Work
Many SBC "repair companies" don't repair anything. They send your unit to a specialist and resell the repair with a margin on top. Here you deal directly with the technician. Questions about your fault codes, part number or bleed procedure get answered by the person doing the work.
We'll also tell you when not to spend money. If your car shows a red brake warning, don't drive it: call us and we'll advise on recovery. If a simple bleed or a fluid issue is the real cause, we'll say so.
